Ways these Broncos and the malleable QB can halt the Kansas City Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.
Notable in those games were the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments so they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
However it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.
Denver boast the top defender in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always sending extra defenders but they could position two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted during a show that the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
New tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable situations.
This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.
His strengths are his movement, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.
When you constantly rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field vertically side to side. It can be draining.
The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
Payton owns a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix aids make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. The key is is maintain this path.
They excel at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.
Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
