Supporters Call for Custody of Individual Who Grabbed Ariana Grande
Devoted fans of the actress are urging that a individual who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.
A viral video shows the Australian man bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a promenade flanked by onlookers.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the event by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers showed that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
Pattern of Incidents
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account features videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last December.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.
Supporters Express Concern Over Grande's Safety
Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more response on Instagram.
Some fans also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals called for digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.
Reaction and Event Details
In footage circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.
Many of fans had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it started.
The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely friendship between two distinct witches.
The musical itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
