Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
